CCAC to hold virtual 2020 Commencement on Thursday, May 14

Students invited to participate in “CCAC Class of 2020 Celebration Week”

The Community College of Allegheny County will hold a virtual 2020 Commencement celebration on Thursday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. The ceremony, which will include the reading of graduates’ names, will be streamed on the college’s YouTube and other social media channels. Graduates, their families and friends are invited to watch the ceremony on their TV, computer or device and to participate in the celebration through social media. The “CCAC Class of 2020 Celebration Week” will encompass a variety of engaging activities across CCAC’s social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, at #CCACVirtualGrad.

The CCAC Class of 2020 comprises 2,479 graduates earning Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees, certificates and diplomas in nearly 160 programs. The graduates range in age from 13 to 76.

Individuals who will offer congratulatory messages to the Class of 2020 include County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, CCAC President Dr. Quintin Bullock, CCAC Board of Trustees Chair Frederick Thieman, CCAC Provost and Executive Vice President Stuart Blacklaw, PhD, CCAC Professor August Kellerman, PhD, (faculty speaker) and CCAC Graduate and Student Trustee Ashley Evans (student reflections speaker).
